Notes.-

1.Castilian Spanish is full of ¿th¿ sounds. Whenever a Spanish c comes before an e or an i, it is pronounced ¿th¿ as in ¿thank you¿. In parts of Southern Spain, and throughout Latin America this ¿th¿ sound is replaced by a simple ¿s¿ sound. In our pronunciation notes, we use the letter c or ç. Remember the rule: c before e or i, and z's everywhere, are pronounced ¿th¿. Example: Gracias (pron. Gra'cias), razón (pron. Ra' çon).

2.Tienes razón means ¿you are right¿, but tienes actually means ¿you have¿. Tiene hambre: ¿he his hungry¿ is a similar expression: literally ¿he has hunger¿.
